Pre-screening Templates
How do they work?
When you are starting showings for a property and reach the "Prospects" step, you will see a dropdown list for "Pre-screening" with an option selected. Use this dropdown list to select the set of pre-screening criteria you'd like to use for the property.
If you select a template you've already created, you'll see a summary of the criteria appear as a reminder of what this template contains.
If you select Custom, you will be able to set each pre-screening criteria individually.
If you select Disabled, no pre-screening questions will be asked to prospective renters.
You can control which options are available, as well as their order in the list, from the general settings.
How to set up pre-screening templates
Adding a template
Click on your name, at the top right and navigate to Settings
Select Showings
Find the Pre-screening templates section
Click the Add Template button.
Enter the template's name.
Set the criteria you'd like to apply.
Click Update and you will see the new template added to the top of the list.
Editing a template
Click the pencil icon next to the template you'd like to edit.
Update the name and/or criteria.
Click the Update button.
Deleting a template
If you're deleting a template that you have created...
Click the red, trash icon next to the template you'd like to delete.
A dialog will appear.
If the template is used at an actively showing property, you will see that address appear in the dialog.
Click on the address to open the property page. We recommend middle-clicking on the links (or right-clicking > Open in New Tab) to open each address in a new tab.
Change the pre-screening selection of each property to a different template. Do so by clicking "Edit" and selecting the "Prospects" section.
Click Save changes.
Then you can go back to the settings, and delete the template.
Click Yes, delete to confirm deletion.
If you'd like to delete "Disabled" or "Custom," simply click the toggle to disable them. You will always see these options in the settings, but if they're toggled off, they will not be available as choices for each property when starting showings.
Tip: Want to require a specific set of criteria for all properties? Simply add your desired template, and turn off "Disabled" and "Custom."
Sorting the list of templates
Use the left-side handle (the grey, six square icon) to drag and drop the templates. Changing the order in the settings will change the order that appears in the dropdown when starting showings, and the first template in the list will be the default.
Custom Questions
Custom questions allow you to create your own pre-screening questions. You have full control over the question and the possible responses, giving you ultimate flexibility. You can add custom questions to any template you create.
To set them up...
Go to Settings > Showings > Pre-screening templates
Edit a template (or create a new one).
Click the Add custom question button at the bottom.
Enter the question you'd like to ask each prospect.
Prospects will have two responses they can choose between. Enter the two options you'd like to present and choose if that response means they're qualified or disqualified.
Click Update to save the template.
Note: These questions are only available with pre-screening templates that you have created. You will not be able to create these using the "Custom" template when starting showings for a property.
