How to use basic lockboxes for self- showings

Edited

We recommend using Codeboxes for self-showings, which are fully integrated with Showdigs. Codebox provides a lockbox that can generate a one-time code for each showing, which helps keep your property secure.

If you would still like to use a less secure option, like a basic lockbox or keypad, read on...

Configuration

Warning: Using basic lockboxes for self-showings will provide prospects with a single, static code to access your property. This means that anyone can access the property at any time, leaving you an easy target for scams.

First, go to Settings > Showings and scroll to the bottom. Enable the "Basic Lockbox Self-Showings" setting.

Note: Only an account owner has permission to enable this setting.

Now, when you start showings for a specific property, you will see a "Self-Showing" option.

At the end of the activation flow, you will have the option to choose your lockbox type and to provide instructions to prospects. Instructions may include where to find the lockbox, which door to use, etc.

Prospect Experience

After the prospect schedules a tour, we will confirm their tour time and send them appropriate reminders. When their time approaches, we will notify the prospect and allow them to start their tour.

Once the prospect arrives, we'll perform a geo-location check to verify that they're at the property. If they are, they'll see your instructions and will receive the lockbox code.

They are then free to conduct their self-tour. Once they're done, we ask them to confirm that they've locked up and will ask them to rate the property and provide feedback on their experience, including any questions they may have.
