Basic Functions
The primary function is to keep the Showdigs inventory aligned with the inventory in the PMS. Generally speaking, this means that new properties that are added to the PMS are automatically created in Showdigs, and updates made to properties in the PMS are automatically made in Showdigs. (We do not yet delete properties from Showdigs when they’re deleted from the PMS).
Property/Unit Specifications
The integration will always…
… add new properties and units to Showdigs when they’re added to the PMS. When a new property is added, the integration will always get as much information as possible (address, floor plan, images, descriptions, etc.).
… update basic property details in Showdigs when changes are made in the PMS. The following are always kept in sync with the PMS:
Address
Unit name
Floor plan (bedrooms, bathrooms, square feet)
Rent
Rent is kept in sync to ensure that PMs are in compliance with fair housing guidelines, and all ads for the property contain the same rent.
These fields will always be visible but disabled, so PMs can see the values but cannot edit them in Showdigs.
Application Link
If a PMS integration is enabled, there will be a separate setting to control how we handle the Application Link. This allows you to explicitly choose if you'd like to sync the application link from your PMS or if you'd like to provide a default link in the Settings.
If you choose to always sync the link from your PMS, the link will always be updated in Showdigs when it’s updated in your PMS, and the field will be disabled/uneditable in Showdigs.
Pet Policy
Pet Policy used to be something we sync’d from AppFolio exclusively, but will no longer be supported. With the introduction of pre-screening templates, you already have an easy, reliable way to set this up, and we don't want to cause any additional confusion with syncs.
Listing Fields
The other fields we can sync have to do with listings/advertisements, so the behavior depends on whether a PM is syndicating with us or not. The next two sections will cover how we handle these “listing fields:”
